The UK is very poor when it comes to any of this.
How many people rent a place & think they can look forward to feeling safe & secure & plan a family for say 10+ years in the UK? .

I'm voting UKIP. At least the guy's got a personality.
Not really a surprise, they need as many thicko votes as possible

One idiot, one vote, counts the same. When a proportion votes the same then it's valid opinion and worth taking notice of. Wait till the election, I suspect there will be a large new party on the parliament floor

18% or so of the electorate must be thicko's then, eh?

Labour will never win anything with an idiot like Milliband in charge. He'll lose the next election and will be replaced.

As much as I don't like Cameron et al, they will win purely because of the inept opposition.

During the recent Clacton By Election, a TV reporter stopped a voter to ask what way he was voting, UKIP he said, and then went on to say the he hadn't voted in 30 years but felt the need now - citing immigration as his biggest issue

The thing is Clacton does not have a particular immigrant problem and the other laughable fact was, the cvnt was 35 stone, riding a mobility scooter - one handed (*** in the other hand, obviously) and looked like he had not done a days work in is life

I'm all for giving UKIP some support in the hope that they can have a platform on which to prove themselves, but do you think that they have yet done this and deserve a vote at the general election?

Why does it have to be your home town for you to be concerned? I don't have any debt, but I'm concerned about the national debt!

To be honest what I think is this.

The three main parties have proved themselves to be little more than greedy self serving lying pigs at the trough. Labour particularly get under my skin as I am a socialist at heart and to see what that party has become makes my blood boil. The Tories have always been greedy right wing self servers, but to see the Labour Party become a mirror of them sickens me. The Lib Dems are little more than a political joke grabbing at power like a child let loose in a sweet shop!

So overall I want something to kick the system and kick it hard. UKIP are not really my politics aside from the fact I do think we need to get out of the EU and I think their stance on energy while not all green and tree hugging is honest and realistic!

However right now the biggest thing going for them is when Farage talks he (rightly or maybe wrongly) convinces me that what he says is what he thinks is right for the UK and not solely for his career. I may not agree with everything he says, but at least he convinces me he is saying it for the right reasons.

Now maybe he will turn out to be another career politician like Cameron, Osborne, Blair, Clegg etc. but I would rather vote for a party that may, just may, have the UK people's interests at heart than one I definitely know does not and a party that if enough people get behind them can give the smug self servers like Cameron and Miliband a good hard kick in gonads!

It's either that or I don't vote (again)!

What about if he does a cynical election deal with the Tories, whilst UKIP gain considerable concessions it keeps them in power and is then rewarded by a seat in the lords

Just a thought

Farage has already talked about a "confidence and supply" deal with the Tories (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confidence_and_supply) in order to get a 2015 referendum after the next election. More seats mean more influence which is obviously what UKIP want although I think I detect a slight cynical "snouts in the trough" tone in your comment, hopefully I've misjudged you!

Sure I wouldn't blame them for doing an electoral pact with the Tories - in the calculations of "realpolitik" it could be a good move

I was commenting on the possibility of Farage using the "pact" negotiations for his own personal advantage

Would I blame him? probably not - but I suspect some supporters would feel let down

As I say pure conjecture on my part - I don't agree with what he says, but he does seem to come over as "a man of his word" in old skool parlance

So it would be a shame if he was seen to "sell out"

Well I haven't seen anything to suggest it, so until he does he gets my vote

He's now "getting tough" on UKIP, and is going to "take them apart". Nigel then challenges Ed to a TV debate. Ed says see you in May. He's so hard! (loser)

Farage seems to be flip flopping though. In 2012 he said that public funding for the NHS should stop and we should go to an insurance based system.

Farage has now done a complete U turn. He has now become a proper politician
