Was a great drive Rob....enjoyed competing again but didn't enjoy standing on the sideline watching my time get swallowed up !

How did you find the super soft tyres ? Better than x10,s ?

Thanks Adam. I don't know never had a prob with x10s tbh the yokahama has a very hard sidewall where the x10s are really soft. I found the x10s a lot more forgiving almost. Where the yokes don't give much before they let go.
Have you found out what's the prob with yours?

You should try doing it with my Power/Weight in a full trim daily driven road car, it's not easy, great fun though.

I'll be toast at Hethel where power/weight will really matter.

You are doing very well so far! It wont be long before you beat me if you keep the current form going

Are cars should be very similar power/weight but you got them torques.
Hethel looks very fast from what Iv seen on vids. Think it will be a interesting one there.
Maybe one day john I'm not as consistent as you either. I need to chill out a bit when in car.
I really wish could of done Combe again Iv really learnt so much since then. I know only been out couple times since then but just basic stuff i was getting wrong.
It's great battling it out with you john and always great banter on the day. Even if you always beat my tenths of a sec everytime lol

Hethel round 4 (few weeks late)

Turned up early sat morning to hethel armed with yokahama a006 and re70 for a wet circuit thought it was never gonna work out for me. Especially after being told by a good few people that I prob won't see near a podium with my power! Well we got close.

I picked up my car from Steven early week after him fitting one of his oil catch cans with a return to sump (what a bit of kit) also a new geo set up along with various other lil bits to get me ready for next round.
I took it very easy on my first few laps to get idea how I was gonna attack in the competitive runs.
Soon realized that the first chicane is a lot harder than it once looked on YouTube vids it's a lot slower than I thought.
Once I figured that out it was a case if I wanna get close to the faster cars I'm gonna have to be real brave on the brakes and a very clean through chicane.
I made a few changes after speaking with Steven through out the day with my feed back from how car felt and what changes to make, with in few laps I was extremely happy.
On 3rd lap I was ready to attack just before rain hit us.
With that run I got a 1.25.21 before I got in I had a call from Steven telling me well done and telling me time I got. I told him then I'm not beating that time abd catching felly let alone Graeme lol.
Shortly after the rain was with us and I knew I wasn't gonna then go out beat my previous time so I stood at track side watching dan Lewis catching times along with Fred.
Track had dried out a tad by lap 7/last lap I thought il have one last go with a lap time of 1.25.53 I couldn't catch previous times.
I was so happy to leave with 3rd place at hethel with some great drivers on track.

Wanna say thanks to Richard Henry lads again for help and tools. Also well done Andy with a 1st place well deserved.
I seriously can't thank Steven enough for the car he's built and advice he has given.
When me and Steven first spoke at start of project we both agreed that being in s2 with 400 odd bhp your not gonna be to competitive especially with track experience of one totb and 1 sprint. To have 3 podium finishes out of 4 from a car we thought we wouldn't be competitive with is good going. Wouldn't of done it with out sd Motorsport thanks steven

I'm good mate, finally back in the fold with a Widetrack blob. Was up cadwell the other week for a trackday and general shakedown of the car. Plan is to enter the sprint series next year and possibly time Attack depending on budget. You looked quick at pembrey, oulton park will be interesting with that ice rink tarmac

Don't get on hear much so il thought il give you guys a update......

2015 has been incredible, an amazing year with great events, good competition and all with good friends.

This year has gone so fast it's hard to believe the season is over already. Only our 2nd year buts it's all coming together nicely.

The season started with Pembrey and what an epic event, sharing the paddock with the legendary RCM Gobstopper 1 and Andy Forest's rapid World Time Attack Impreza. Something clicked at Pembrey and we secured our first win in the series.

Oulton Park followed with some sideways action and unpredictable grip levels. A challenging day left us with 3rd place, another podium in the bag.

With the series in full swing next up was Castle Combe, my good friend and driving mentor Marc kemp of paniclink motorsport made the effort to join us and helped me with my lines and braking zones.

A couple of guest drivers joined us at Castle Combe. Damien Bradley and Steven Darley duel drove the Team Legacy Time Attack car, both managing incredible times. Steven is the genius that's behind the building of many top class cars including my Impreza.

Walking away with a 2nd place at a "power circuit" like Castle Combe definitely wasn't to be sniffed at and the championship points table was looking good.

Being selected to be being part of the 22b Ten Of The Best 2015 team meant that the Teeside sprint would be quite a challenge but with
Marc there once again it all came together for another 2nd place trophy.

Blyton park is a great track that I got my last minute sneaky lap in on my last run giving me a 2nd place.

Hethel the lotus test track is an amazing smooth high speed circuit which doesn't particularly suit my car again with lack of power. A real hard battle there to walk away 5th. Had problems with lack of grip on rear end which we diagnosed at sd Motorsport hq being a disintegrated rear differential. Steven whipped out and replaced the faulty item with a spare unit we had.

Rockingham national circuit was the final round of the Championship and although a few Youtube clips had been viewed and a couple of laps completed on a simulator, it felt totally new to me. Regardless I was definitely gonna go all out as I knew the championship was on the line.
I needed to win and for George Rigby to finish in 3rd place for me to win the S2 Championship title. Going out onto the track a tad enthusiastic and putting the car in the gravel pit at some speed wasn't the start we had planned. The car was forklifted out to the flat bed truck and brought back to the team to start stripping it down and removing the tons and tons of the gravel from car.

After missing two runs we put on our competitive tyres and still carrying a load of extra "ballast" went out for a sensible run before upping our game. The car felt great so went for a banker and managed a 1:03:11 this time putting us in 1st place.

Next run on touching the curb something knocked my steering/geometry out wheel at 10 o'clock going down steel straight still managing a 1:03:58.

So that was it for us wasn't gonna better it now luckily no else did either. So very very happy to walk away with a 1st place.
George being 2nd meant he took the S2 championship putting me 2nd place overall.
We had a great battle through out the championship fighting for the podiums along with the other very talented drivers.

So overall amazing year. I wanna say a massive thank you to Steven of SD Motorsport for building us a great car which has been so reliable and competitive. It's worth saying that this is no trailer car and it is driven to and from each event running a standard v8 short block with built v4 heads.
Another thank you to SD Motorsport for the amazing advice on building the car for the 2016 sprint season also the driver tuition through out the year.

Marc of paniclink Motorsport has been a key part of the team and provided excellent track tuition. He has really pushed me as a driver to help take home the silverware.
I feel that we are now going in the right direction.

Graeme from whiteline you have helped me so much this year with either suspension advice , arbs drop links or gear box rebuild parts you been there always willing to help. Thanks mate

I wanna thank my team to I couldn't do it with out you boys. Getting me and car ready at events to even feeding me strawberry laces through the window on runs lol. It's all appreciated.

Also massive thanks to all my sponsors through out the year and the year coming with parts and advice

Nice one Rob, have been following your progress on motors TV, they had a very nice shot of your trapped in the gravel trap at rockingham, how deep!?! Lol . Missed coming up to ten of the best this year due to work sadly but keeping my sights on getting the car track ready for next year hopefully, area52 are my local garage now and we have a nice plan set out for the car to come.

Haha, the last interview was great lol. You got to stop getting on the podium in which case

If I can get the funds together and the engine built over the winter then I'll be there, watching it all from the sofa had me itching to take the car out. Spent this summer just booking track time and learning the car and some of its limits, when I wasn't working anyway!?

It's something to be said that yours is still a road car and driven to and from the events, it's a credit to you and the team mate.
