The only issue with DIY now is getting hold of 72mg nicotine, but there is one site where you can still buy it. Or you just buy it in 18mg 10ml nic shots from many places. The only downside to that is your nic content will be higher in your mix as it's only 18mg, so you will need to use more.
#1897
That seems to be true, on the Wismec RX2/3 that i have the red internal power wire had become detached due to poor soldering. I had to take it apart and re-solder it, this issue on the RX2/3 is apparently a common problem.

Has yours arrived yet, if so what are your first impressions. Have Wismec done any sort of recall on this issue as it doesn't give you a lot of piece of mind that it could go at any time ?

Missed this thread, liking the new mod (or not that new now!)ossett
Well after 2 aliens, the 160w kangertech started to play up. In fact the other weekend it just would not turn on. Oddly it works again now but confidence is shaken. Either way it was an excuse for another mod. Looked a while back and the ijoy captain stood out, looked again and it came up top for me. So i decided to order one. Just the mod for now, might get the ijoy RTA as it looks pretty smart with the deck.
One factor was trying out the new 20700 cells, the mod does come with a silicon sleeve for 18650 use(stop rattle basically. Most will know, but anyone reading and not sure. The 18650 are 18mm diam, 65mm long(usually 66/67mm). Now with 20700 they are 20mm wide and 70mm long.
These cells are 3000mah, high drain obviously and possibly the future for now with an 18650 successor. Already used in more high end battery packs for drills, these are creeping onto the market.
Enough waffle, couple of pics

Cells
So far i am enjoying it, yes a little more beefy than an alien, but not too bad like the x cube 2. I have been using it a few days now, driving, carrying etc and not had an issue with the little more size/heft over the compact 18650 mods.

Nice, gets good press the captain, i'm still rocking an alien with the big baby beast tank/rba but now with a 3D carbon wrap as most of the paint came off Wrap is pretty durable, does a better job than smok's sh1tty paint.
Also got a smok procolor coming soon as a backup, like the look of the display and supposed to be better quality, were the only reasons to buy. Also might get the Vapresso Revenger as backup mod #3.

I did love the aliens, still today imo one of the best form factors for dual 18650. Felt nice in hand, nice clear display with the info you need. 1st got dropped and split near top(worked but annoyed me). 2nd just started going funny with the screen(think old tv screen with lines). This eventually went to a blank screen then packed in within a week. Out of the blue, no major drops afaik. So after £100 on alien's, change was due. Some real nice mods out there, dont need 200+w, just up to 40 for my uses. But dual cell is a must, vape time and less cell swaps=less faffing.
Have you checked the ijoy rta out? Looks a good contender

More than likely my next tank................the decision is could be anytime :-)

Yea its ok but capacity is a bit on the low side, tbh the big baby beast does everything i need, i keep hearing OBS tanks getting rave reviews and there are so many RDA's like the wasp, which people rave about, but squonking or normal RDA doesn't appeal, too much faff. It's a balance between best flavour and convenience for me.

Yes the OBS tanks are good, agree exactly the same for me, convenience and vape bio
Have the smok tanks, find a little too much with the RBA. I vape quite a bit, so lower W works best.

So many factors to consider, main one would be size as this will be with you.
Single cell 18650 mod kits like
https://www.ukecigstore.com/smok-g80-kit.html
and
https://www.ukecigstore.com/uk-ecig-...-e-liquid.html
and
https://www.ukecigstore.com/uk-ecig-...page-category1
and
https://www.ukecigstore.com/aspire-evo75-kit.html
Would check them out on youtube for reviews to get a better idea of function and size.
Battery wise, Samsung 30Q and Sony vtc6 would be good choices. Charger wise, Xtar is a decent brand and do single and dual bay options from under £10. Make sure you have a quick read up on the safety side of using lithium batteries. Basics, dont discharge bellow 2.5v and over charge past 4.2v. Dont leave untended or over night charging when asleep. Most mods do have protection built in and will cut the voltage off between 3.3v and 3.6v......
Juice, look for a respected brand and try a few coffee flavours........there will be the nicest coffee flavour you have ever had out there...........its just finding it! Recommend a minimum of a 50/50 VG/PG mix. VG basically makes it smooth and cloudy, the PG is for flavour and throat hit. Using sub ohm coils(less than 1 ohm), at least 50% VG is recommended as it can be too harsh. Not sure how much you smoke, but starting at 6mg and see how you go. You can dilute it with V if too strong. Once you get into it a little more, you may decide on making your own. Looks complicated at 1st, but it is as challenging as making a cup of coffee.......honest!
Sure bio etc will add better info, my eyes are tired and out of focus, hope its of some help to start with.

Start with one out of Tescos. If it’s emough then brilliant, find the same for cheaper. When you find yourself wanting for more come back.

Most of us here started on MTL devices and now use subohm devices for more flavour, throat hit etc but using lower or even zero nic content e-juice.
Anything from Aspire is decent for a beginner

To be honest, not knocking Jack's advice but the supermarket kits might put you off as they aren't very good imo, but for a quick test you could try those first, they are pretty cheap.
For a coffee juice do a google, e.g

Just an echo really... but I do like to go into a local vape shop for my mods... I like being able to see and feel, check out the build quality of what I'm buying... also if there's any problems in the first week or so you have somewhere to take it back to and get it exchanged.... internet can easily fob you off but standing in a shop face to face with other customers generally achieves better results than an email.
There's a couple of shops pretty local to me and both have a large selection of flavours so you can have a chat about whats popular and just do a pick and mix.... I find a lot of flavours too strong and sweet so I tend to weaken them with PG and VG bought from my local chemist by the litre... also makes vaping really really cheap.
Whatever you do just stick with it mate...it does get easier... ciggies are horrible and they really stink to non-smokers as well as being really bad for you, so glad I got into vaping and feel so much better for it... just shy of 2yrs now since I started... not had a ciggie in all that time.
