True but its the same with the alien they are painted as well and there is a few people starting to complain about the paint starting to chip off on them.
There is a colour choice but that site only has the red in stock i was just using them as a example but i do get your point.

Bugger the hunt continues then.

Anyone recommend a stainless mod, not overly worried what tank comes with it but it would be nice to have one that's rebuildable.

My stainless kanger kbox platinum is scratched to **** as well, even with it protected and in a case all the time, you can't win. But to be honest who cares what it looks like, its how it performs that matters!

Indeed a very valid point.

Now I'm confused.

As said above i find all mods pick up small chips and dings over time SS looks good for a while but then it picks up scraps as well.
I suppose you could use a cover / sleeve for one but i find them a PITA keep taking on and off to change the batteries.

The silver alien so far has held up fine in normal use. Trouble is the anodising is never very good and chips too easy on these mods. Use and enjoy and simply replace when battered . Don't carry with keys and coins , should hold up ok till a new one tempts you.

Just ordered the Smok Guardian lll E-pipe from myepack and the rebuildable TF RCA (dual claptons) also went for a curved pipe drip tip from the drip tip store, figured it's christmas and it's been a while since I had a treat.

I was almost put off it by the fiddly functionality but figured once I set my mods up I tend not to mess with the buttons and just vape on the same setting so it's not really an issue.

Just need to see if santa brings me a pair of slippers, because I've emptied my pay pal account.

Sounds like it's going to be a nice setup, pipe+Rebuildable.
I've been looking at the 629 R2 from ePuffer, looks really nice, proper bit of wood too, doesn't look like the best tank tho and not Rebuildable.
Get some pics up Ditchy when you get it

Yeah quite looking forward to it, been wanting one for almost a year, glad I held out as this new version is more suited to how I vape, sub ohm, rebuildable and clapton coils and the cherry on top is it runs on 18650's, so it's much better than the version 2.

Had a good look at what else is available and tbh I would have preferred a wooden one but none of them offer what I've listed above and the real nice wooden ones cost a fortune, also as you say not rebuildable and I don't fancy paying the best part of 20 quid for 3 coils.

Soon as it lands I'll get the pic up and tell you what I think.

Just been having a look at the guardian III and nearly clicked to buy,3.5ml might be a bit small for my use but then it looks like any tank can be used?
And the link to the drip tips is quality, that will turn it into the proper pipe experience
Soooo tempted to buy but I might wait to see what you think after using it.

The tank comes with another larger 5mm glass as well, you really need to learn to read everything.

The tip @134mm should give me the real Sherlock Holmes experience, gona have to get me a smoking jacket and a deer stalker hat.

I probably won't get mine until after xmas if it doesn't come next week, as I've done the delivery for Croatia and I'll be in Uk for xmas, between that and the usual xmas rush I'm not really expecting to see it until January, still something to look forward to for the new year.

I knew you'd get me back for that one!
Puts glasses on and read that it does indeed come with a 5ml glass so defiantly make it more appealing now
And I've found it a tad cheaper @£45.95 through gosmokefree.

Had to be done.

I found it a little bit cheaper too, but they didn't have the clapton coil rba so I'd of had to pay double shipping @ £12 a pop for standard European, so worked out cheaper for me to get both from myepack, also prefer to go with a reputable company as opposed to some guy selling on ebay operating out of his bedroom, rather pay slightly more and have some form of comeback.

It's my first mod off the internet as I normally buy from shops for the reasons above, but I also wanted to pay via paypal so I could use the money I got from selling some parts on here and not dip into my "real money" so I hope all goes well and I see my pipe soon, fingers crossed.

I didn't realize gosmokefree were a bedroom company, totally agree it's worth paying a few more £ to a reputable place,I've used myepack many times and is a quality service

I will probably wait to see what you think of the guardian III,saying that I'm tempted to take the plunge now

I didn't find it at gosmoke free, i don't know them or where they operate from, I forget who it was because I looked at so many, even including Smok, who also didn't have the Clapton RBA, which is an absolute must for me. I went with Myepack because it was the easiest option with some redress if the worst should happen.

P.S; I think most of what I found was the cheaper version without the screen and from china.

Well I couldn't wait until the new year,my old mod is looking shabby and I wanted something smart for Xmas.
Took the plunge and ordered a guardian III
Watched a few YouTube reviews and couldn't resist.
The pipe you found @ @ditchmyster Ticks all the boxes:
18650 battery, nice tank and quality mod
Also ordered the Sherlock drip tip and a nice chrome stand For home plus a folding wooden stand for when I'm out.
Should arrive this week so looking forward to something a little different.

Thumbs up

@ ossett2k2, nice one, got my shipping confirmation for all the stuff I ordered over the weekend today, so hopefully may at least get the pipe before the weeks out.

Yes it ticks all the boxes for me too, did you go for an rba?

just need to see if @ ven gets in on the act now too.

I went for the SMOK TF-R3 RBA+T4 SET,not sure that includes the RCA?
I've never used the Clapton coils so wanted an RBA I could use for the endless ss and twisted kanthal I've got.

Display dodgy or not and the one button aren't really an issue, like someone said it's how it vapes that counts once I set my mods up I tend to stick with it the way it is, I only look at my screen to see how much battery life I have, not interested in anything else tbh, puff counters etc, it's all wasted on me.

Yup but you can't solve the mystery with a box.
Pipe mod FTW
Might even make this forum more bearable since the crap update

Seriously tho,I'll use the pipe for home and out,box for work and car/garage.
I'll see how it vapes and if I like it I'll buy a monocle

I'm hoping it's going to be good, should be as it has all the right ingredients, 75w I only vape at 20w 90% of the time, temp control which I don't have on my main mod but do on my Kooper 200 but haven't got into doing much with it but hoping to get a bit more into that with this one, TFV4 tank which is supposed to be a good tank and was on my short list of tanks a while back, but I went for the Bellus instead at the time, which while it's very good for flavour is not so good for going out and about with because it needs to be kept upright with the vents closed or it p155es juice everywhere, and then there's the fact that it's made by Smok, having looked at what else is available it was the only serious contender for me.

Also price, considering it comes with the TFV4 with 2 glass options, which is easily 20 quid and a good quality tank (something you can never have too many of) then that puts the mod at circa 30 quid which is peanuts for a quality well known brand Mod like Smok, bargain.

Good old myepack, fast delivery as usual
Guardian III is a nice mod, very tactile, button in the perfect place, looks nice and the tank is quality.

Screen is a little dim especially in daylight but it's still very usable, plus if you use the app then you can control some of the features with the phone temp, wattage etc.
I ordered the long drip tip and have been using that, the bore is small so draw is a little tight for my liking but I will use it and maybe look out for something with a bigger bore.

Definatly needs a stand imo(mine haven't arrived yet) it rolls over onto its side on hard surfaces.
The 3ml glass was an absolute mare to remove, tried running under cold water, tried hot water and no joy, ended up gripping it that tight it smashed in my hand!
Good job I was never going to use it anyway and now have the 5ml glass in place

All in all very please with it and a great addition to the collection.
Cheers for the recommendation ditchy
