Default Best Android double din stereo

Looking for reviews/recommendations on android based double din stereos please.

Saw an App Radio Pioneer in a mates car but its the latest DA120 and at £300+ is a bit out of my range so before I go for a DA120 I thought i'd see if anyone is running a Sony/Kenwood/Alpine etc that can swing my decision.

Rear camera, apps/mirror link are what i'm after and I'm happy to spend up to £300ish. I've googled to see if theres a comparison on current models but cant really find any info without knowing all the model numbers etc.

Dont want an xtrons or budget one, I'm using a galaxy S5 so would like something to work with that. No iFail stuff.

Arguably the best android based headunit I've even seen is the Nexus 7. Granted it's not as plug and play as an off the shelf unit but it's well worth the time/effort.

Out of curiousity, how are the Xtron items? And I have seen a Sansui DD on eBay for £129.

Thoughts?

i'd not buy another xtron, mine was a flip out lcd, which annoyingly always tried to extend to full span before reaching the programmed angle, not ideal when the dash fouls full span range. also it didn't have much in the way of bass and treble control etc

I would never buy an xtrons or a Pumpkin again.... Learned my lesson there
They are too big for a start and you will need to alter the surround to make them fit, most of the stuff on them didn't work either...

Came a across a dynavid clone today fitted into a E46 BM...(Enco or Eonon I think) was suitably impressed. Considering they are about £250 compared to over double that for something branded, its a feature-rich bargain.

Only criticism is no video in motion (gets speed signal via CAN-bus) and no proper audio EQ (just bass+treble and Loudness...urggh)

Pretty sure it was sony that started it for car stereos, but works with most android devices, think the head unit is a sony 615 and about 300 quid but means you can use Google maps Spotify etc on the head unit without wires

You can achieve a 'standard style' installation with the nexus 7. The screen is near as dammit the same size as a double din unit.

On a related note - will a double din fit my 1998 classic? It looks like it should, if I remove the tray that sits underneath my current head unit.
