Default Help with car choice

To be shared by wifey and my mum.

Small enough to be driven by mum. So no bigger than 3series/golf etc but preferably smaller. She drives a Peugot 206 at present.

Automatic

0-3 years old. Pref still has about a year of warranty left.

4 doors.

Safe for my little baby!

Boot big enough to get a pram in it.

£10kish.

Lowish insurance.

Not bothered by the badge ie could be a Ford, Vauxhall or VW, Merc etc

Many thanks

Deep

Take your pick from any of the Ford range and you cannot go far wrong, should be able to get a car with at least 2 years left on the warranty.

A bit more expensive at £10,600 though.

Crazy prices...can get a brand new Mondeo ST 2.2 155 tdci for £15,995 or a new ST220 for £16,990.

Thanks. Yes, I was thinking Focus aswell but I don't know what their autoboxs are like though.

£16k is too much.

How about a new Corsa. Cheap to buy and run. Or a Honda Jazz? Alternatively you could get the Audi Q7 with R8 bodyshell that AudiLover will be suggesting shortly.

Wasn't suggesting one of these as you did say £10k, was merely highlighting how cheap they are.

Blue, Corsa is prob a little small and basic. Perfect comedy timing with Audilover though!

A3 is only 2 door isn't it?

Civic added to shortlist.

Anybody got experience of the Toyota released. Begins with an A!

toyotas are ****. theres a pic floatin about on the net where a 2006 camry crashed into a merc e-class head on in the US and the toyota got absolutely obliterated. Dont think the toyota driver made it, but the merc driver had minor injuries and basically walked out his car.

a3 is 2 door, but sportback version is 4 door. 2006 golfs are available for 10k.
