Anybody got any recommendations for a nice Hotel in or around Bovington Army Base.

Off to see my son on an open day and get free admission to see the museum, just looking at something nearish that good and maybe has a small bar etc....

Dorchester or Wareham but Weymouth is a bit further out. You try Bere Regis as well. Lulworth Cove is out of season too.
What unit is he off to Ted?

He's in the Life Guards Waterloo squadron. Just doing his driving tests and some signals exam which he aced but he can't tell me about what it is as its top secret..... He also mentioned some team called scimitar

He's also been offered pathfinders which he's gonna give a good shot, heard that's hard...

I'd go for Dorchester or Bere Regis if you can find somewhere. Weymouth is about half hour away if travelling isn't an issue. If you Dont mind roughing it a little, there is a proper civvi campsite right next to bovvi, it's just out the back.

The tank museum is brilliant, thoroughly recommended!

Good luck to your boy aswell, you must be very proud!

yeah Peedee, i am. went through school messing about as some lads do, if he hadn't chosen himself to go in the Colledge at Harrogate, id have had a hard time stopping him turning into a feral kid.

the Army has really made him turn into a man, all his bad bits are now gone really is a breath of fresh air...

I just hope he sticks to tanks and gets into the Challenger 2, all throughout his stint in Harrogate they kept asking them if they fancied the Mercian's or Yorkshire, which is the Infantry but he held off,not that its a bad thing mind...

hes got more money than he knows what to do with now, and in about 3 weeks will have his driving test done.... even got enough to buy a brand new corsa bitch wagon LOL
Few Lads i work with are X Army 15 years in desert storm etc, sergeants they helped me steer him...

The first year for anybody looking at this is Hard, its kinda to try weed out the ****... get past that and into where he is now, and they kinda leave you alone a lot more.... Loves it

Weymouth is only 30mins away, you could stay in a b&b, guesthouse or hotel on the seafront.
