In praise of Sainsburys.
Not as dear as you might think.
Own brands are top quality. (oven chips and instant mash)

OK, thanks for sharing.
I mean, the praise, if not the oven chips and instant mash.

Instant mash, I had it once,
it's just nasty.

Cadbury Smash tastes of day-old worn socks. Possesses an earthy, iron-y 'taste'. Rank as. *boak*
However, homemade mash, made with milk, butter, a little salt and liberally laced with cracked black pepper, rocks my world! *yum yum*
Let's eat!!

you should experiment with some mayo in your mash or a sprinkling of paprika, makes for a nice change from the norm and still tidy

I only like mayo in chicken fillet burgers. Not into it, otherwise.

Wouldn't want to test that worn socks comparison! Agree re the homemade mash though, except double cream instead of milk and some saffron to make the perfect topping to a fish pie.

Another vote for double cream and a table spoon of mayonaise and for the hardcore a good old fashioned squirt of this
Has to be this brand it's the best

Only an oaf sniggers at fish pie!
A great one needs salmon, cod, smoked haddock and some big prawns, topped with the aforementioned creamy saffron mash. Food of the Gods on a winter's day!
