Just installed Appradio 3, any questions?
Hi all,
I have (rather surprisingly for me as I'm useless) successfully installed a Pioneer Appradio 3 into my 06 Hawkeye.
If anyone is looking for a good all round double din head unit to connect your smart phone to, look no further, it's brill.
Any questions let me know.

I've got the cable on the way and will update the firmware on the radio and will let you know.
You need a CD-ah200 cable to android phones, an extra 50 quid

Yeah. Surprisingly easy. Old one came out no probs. This one doesn't need the cradle as I don't think it would fit but it's a very snug fit regardless. Can't fit it with the black plastic surround either. But it looks better with out it.
You will need a adapter though to connect the speakers and power as the cars is an old choc and the appradio is more modern. a tenner.

Yes it does, sub and amp. I'm still on the original speakers which are cack anyway, but there is certainly improvement from the appradio. More depth and clarity.

I got one of these, slightly different looks like an iPad screen, only had it a couple of days so still getting used to it, CarPlay is ok, can't actually get app radio to work. Fingerprints are doing my head in already though, plus I keep going for the volume **** (giggity) off my old one.

You can download dash command for it specifically, but.....
if you root your phone then anything you can do on your phone you can do on the radio touch screen.
I don't have steering wheel controls so can't comment on the that

Johnnyblaze: on app radio 4 you need the hdmi kit to use app radio. How ever ios8 isn't compliant with it and it lost a lot of features so we're stuck with CarPlay. iOS 7 used to incorporate dash command. Now only android can be supported for the mirror link

Yeah iv figured that out now, don't no if it's worth the messing about to get it to work? (App radio). Car play is ok but lacking in features, hopefully we will get some compatible apps in the future.

I have android tablet that I'm going to get the cables for. I love CarPlay. for years I've been trying to seamless integrate my phone in to the car and CarPlay does that with out any fuss or mess . I like the Siri features too.
Bit of a joke for price of head unit then another 100quid or so to get the full features

Admittedly I have only just become aware of rooting. But I know it involves "breaking" your phone and bypassing the factory built walls that stop your being able to use its full potential. Do that then there is a appradio 3rd party program that allows you to do anything on your appradio that you phone can do.
