That would of been Saturday no? Track was shorter on Saturday, didn't know you were there Sunday? Sunday the track was changed and a bit harder and longer.
Best I got on Saturday was 39.5 before my car broke where most of top guys were getting 34-36s

Boss, well done still.
Had to say it after all the banter, but you're a decent driver I suppose

How many goes did you get though, I'm sure I would of improved my times if I had 10+ try's like everyone else

To say it was my first time competing at totb, it was ace, recommend it to anyone just for the crack, rubbish times or not.

Gonna try get a motor home next time though as I was freezing in my tent at bed time
First time ever in a tent too

My tyres are still ok tbh, thought I'd of shredded more tbh considering concerte is pretty harsh on tyres, mind mine were still fairly new as I hardly have time to drive it.

I may bring some wet tyres next time as last year pissed it down and the slick guys didn't do very well and the yellow civic took it with his uniroyal rs3s.

It's the evening **** up that's fun lol. 2 neurofen in the morning and jobs a good un

I ran my 2 month old (lol) stock RS3 down Shakey the weekend before last. 1300 miles on the clock and it banged in two 12.2s straight off the bat. No dramas and no stress. The LC and box is so much more superior than the A45 tranny set-up.

Quicker stock than my stock A45 was and as quick as the A45 was when it had a tuning box.

Crazy how quick these production hatches are getting.

I want to properly flex the engine in this RS3.... aim is for a quarter starting with a 10.

Did you use the '2' stage traction off mode? As in keep your finger on it for 5 seconds till another warning comes on?
I'm sure you know this already, just making sure.
Opens engine up more without resistance

Didn't try that at the strip as I've been informed it induces wheel spin. I'll definately try it next time though when I start modding, to see if it improves the times.

You'll need lots of power. My car is similar weight and needs over 600 at the wheels to get there. Mind you I don't have all the electronics the RS3 will have.

Good purchase by the way I've always loved those and the RS4s although I'm not too keen on the latest shape RS4

Daz,
A 500bhp RS3 my mate owns is already doing 11.2s quarters @ 122mph down the pod. That's without a remap to the DSG which is supposed to improve performance.

At the time he was running conservative boost due to a bug in the remap limiting boost.

This is all bolt on mods, so he's going to a 600bhp turbo next.

These cars go so well in reality.

Afternoon all,

So this past weekend was USC 2016 @ Santa Pod. Been to the Pod before but never in my car and never on the track.

I'm a novice to drag racing and my 03 WRX is basically stock, save for a cat-back exhaust. Was dyno'd by the previous owner at 230.1bhp and 225lbft, that was a few years ago tho.

4 runs in total, in order:

15.57 @ 90.34mph
14.69 @ 90.68mph
14.87 @ 90.32mph
15.25 @ 89.94mph

Are these times to be expected given the info provided? I saw other cars with a slower time but higher speed, why is this?

Any tips and hints for a newbie?

Thanks in advance
