Have you tried a different back-box?

Usually that'll get the desired effect with minimal effort

 

iv got a prodrive back box but i dont seem to be getting enough burble.. sounds ok in 4th gear.. think i should get a ninja or a nur spec then?

 

You need to get unequal length headers for the GX mate. That'll give the more burbley sort of sound that you are after.

You can get Borla ones for around £400 or get replica ones from ebay for about half that price.

If you're not already, try getting on Imprezasport.net . . . i'm over their as well as scoobynet and there is loads of info on the GX.

I've been meaning to get some of those unequal lengthed headers for ages but have never got round to it.
Think i'm going to hold off, save the money and next year when i'm reloceted (due to business stuff) i'll go straight ahead and get a WRX instead. . . . well that's the plan anyway!! ha ha

I'm 90% sure they won't fit mate.

Borla replica's go for £200 ish new so will do the trick.
