Interesting stuff about max. boost adaptation in Saab turbos
Found this stuff on a Saab website ... interesting stuff about how latest-generation ECUs adapt to boost pressure, etc. Maybe you don't need an ECU reset after all: three or four good blasts up the local dual carriageway should do it.
hey that's nothing compared to the Variable compression engine they're developing..
yes that's not a typo - VARIABLE compression - saw it featured in a mag awhile ago - incredible piece of kit where the bottom 1/3 of the block was hinged and driven by a heavy duty stepper motor, thus changing the effective stroke.

Interesting stuff.
A good mate of mine runs a beautiful J-plate old-shape 900 Turbo 16V. Great cars, solidly built, etc. Lots of character too. He's just having a lot of trouble finding anyone who can give him tuning advice.
Andrew.

I had a 'proper' shape Saab before the Scoob. If they sort out the AWD (and get shot of the Vectra chassis) then the new Saab Turbo would be worth looking at as a Scoob replacement, particularly as it must look better than the new Impreza.
J-plate 900 T16S = rampant wheelspin and torque steer
I think the earlier ones had bigger (Garrett) turbos, and are easy to tune to about 240hp.
