Buying a track car to take to a few events a year (prob 5 max) - other than this the car will be sat in the garage.

Who is best to insure something like this?

Does anyone offer insurance on a pay as you go type scheme where you could insure the vehicle for a weekend for instance??

I know a lot of people track cars with no track insurance and go out on the track at there own risk, problem is personal injury cover incase someone else gets hurt.

I wouldn't worry about the car at all, as this is the reason I want to buy a track car to thrash about and not worry about damage to it (but obviously avoid it at all costs).

Any help appreciated

Track day cover doesn't cover personal injury

You sign a waiver

Track day cover purely covers your car and is usually done on an event by event basis

Speak to Competition Car Insurance

OK cheers for the info - the car would be tax'd and mot'd so it could be driven to the event so would they cover the trip there? or would third party for driving another vehicle on my fully comp policy be enough for this legal wise?

another question... if your not fused if the car gets totalled does this mean insurance is up to you on a track?

You will need minimum road cover to get there

and yes Insurance is not actually required on track
