I use XP/W2000/Win98 with my NTL my cable modem. No problems at all. All it means is that they(NTL) cannot support XP yet, so you run it at your own risk. I.e if it screws up your on your own

For dial up connections

Some software specifically sets up the dial up networking for you, so it probably won't work under XP. However there is nothing to stop you setting it up yourself, if you know the settings(phone number, user id, password etc etc). Again with fiddling it will work, just depends on how much fiddling you want to do.

Only just installed XP this weekend so not had chance to fiddle with it too much.

Thanks Neil - I did some 'Fiddling' with my XP on dial up connection .... I manually inputted in the info (that was because I hated how BT takes over all my internet stuff) so I didnt want to use their instal CD

My dad wouldnt have a clue however so would you recommend that he goes the NTL route?? I could take-over his computer (remotely?) to install maybe?

Hi all

I am running Windows XP and also Explorer V6, I am connected through BT Internet, with no more than the usual problems.

Now, my dad wants to get on-line with NTL and they tell him that he cant with Windows XP!!!!!?????

I am no expert, but I thought that using Explorer to access the internet was the interface, it didnt matter what OS you are using???

Anyone know any different?? Is what he has been told correct??
