Advice please
ihave part worn 3-4 mm Bridgestone Potenza re040 on the front , had a puncture of Dunlop 9000 rears, sio decided to change for same new Bridgestones on the rear.

car feels a bit nevous now with 6-7 mm tread on rear , obviously driven 100 miles today , may not be bedded in.

Should i have fitted the new tyres to the front and putting the part worns on the rear. Or should i keep

Can anybody advise which is best?

It used to be the case that most people advised putting the best tyres on the front (I assume as these are the steering wheels) but apparently from a safety point of view there been some recent research that says it is better to put your best tyres on the rear as it is more difficult to control the car if the rear is out of control as opposed to the front. I will try and find the article.

i have just been researching tyres on the net - hoping that the RE040 were a good tyre but on the survey on this forum - this tyre gets the thumbs down.

Maybe i should have stuck to goodyear f1's
