i am running a virtual XP desktop image on VMWare ESX 3.0, and when the vm desktop is running some market data tools apps and bloomberg, the CPU utilisation goes UP (about 80%!!!). the server running ESX 3.0 is a DL380.

does any VMWare guru know any tweaks to get more performance out of it?

 

That doesnt really tell us much at all..

1st) Have you installed VMware Tools?

where you monitoring cpu usage?

whats performance monitor saying?? Whats using the cpu?
