where is the best place to get a triple gauge pod? either for the a pillar or a centre one if anyone does them for a my94?

thanks for the replys think i prefer the a pillar mount as it will be easier and safer to glance at whilst driving seen some gauges on ebay think they were auto gauge are these any good? id have defis but cant afford that much on gauges there are more important things id spend on my scoob.

 

ianch - I too was put off by the price of Defis and after much research etc, bought these:

I'm always a bit dubious about eBay for these types of things, at least these are coming from a reliable supplier and a very helpful guy.

I think they are very good for the price and have the 'black' stealth look until the ignition is turned on and then they light up.

mm i like the look of those will take a look at those are they easy to fit as id rather do it myself? what gauges have you got?

 

Yes mate very easy. I say easy, i got someone to do them for me as i am not particularly mechanically minded !! I did the physical fitting of them to the car and the electrics with no problems at all as this is my area of expertise (thus the CarPC!!)

However, what ever make of Gauge you buy, you will still have to have the parts fitted to the engine to send signals to the Gauges. ie Boost and Oil Temp / Pressure sender units.

The good bit about these Gauges is they come with all that is required, ie all the necessary sender units.

In my opinion, and that of others, do not go for a Sandwich plate for the Oil sender unit. I had a specific line fitted for this unit.

would that be the remote oil pressure sender adaptor and oil temp sender adaptor on the same site? dont suppose you have any pics of where you fit these bits i like the gauges so if i buy them ill get those other bits at same time.how difficult was the elctrics part what did you connect them upto?

Oil temp is still important to monitor. IIRC excessive oil temp can lead to bearing failure. Boost, oil temp/pressure fitted to mine.

 

the three i was thinking of were boost , oil temp and oil pressure i would think that keeping check of oil temp and pressure has got to be better for the engine? what gauges do u have?

 

Cheapish TIM ones. They do the job though.

i picked a up a set of defi BF boost, oil temp/pressure gauges with genuine defi pod, all sensors and in-built knocklink by posting in the wanted section - got them for a steal too - get posting

 

I have one for MY93-MY96. It a s centre dash pod for 3 52mm gauges.
Great condition, has never been used - am going down a different route.
