Question Insurance & NCB?

Just a quick Q for the Insurance peeps that frequent Scoobynet

Does a pending claim affect NCB? ...the other halfs renewel has come through with 0 years no claims (it was 2, this year being the 3rd) because a claim is pending?

I was always under the impression pending claims had no effect ...but the Insurer (swiftcover) seem quite adamant?

PS The claim 'should' be going our way ...as the third party pulled out on a mini roundabout & we have 2 witness's

because its a peding claim things will be up in the air, the quote shse'll get will be stupidly high until final cost is know and claim is settled.

as far as no claims goes if a claim is outstanding then you wont get a prrof o no claims till its sorted, which will be 0 no claims

As above

NCB will be reduced untill the claim has been settled

Cheers Guys,

So if I pay the renewel (£750 0 ncb) & the claim goes in our favour (back to 3 years ncb) we get refunded the difference (30-40%?)?

no, claim will have got rid of no claims due to making a claim, mine went down by 2 years after the claim, however some companies get rid of the lot.

as far as refund goes i'd guess thats how it would work, best bet have a chat with the comapny and see what they say

Yep ...3/4 way across a mini roundabout & a guy just pulled out from the left! ...too busy chatting to his mate!

Have two independant witness's so should be ok

o right, will be fooked until claim sorted then ncb will be re-instated, just make sure your insurance company doesn't try a 50/50 fault split with other company.
