Question Tyre + wheel advice please ..

I have these nice charcoal 17's ( Ex-WR1 STi ) on my nice silver Classic Wagon with RE-070 225/45/17's but get rubbing between the wheel-arch and the outer edge ..

The question is can I fit less wide tyres like 205/45/17's or are ( as someone else suggested ) my wheels 17.5 tho' the tyres do say 17?

Plus will this stop the tramlining problem ? .. and before anyone says it it's not the driver ! :P

Cheers,

Steve

The wheels wont be 17.5 lol

It looks like the tyres are the problem there fella.
Even with my 7 inch rims (width) and recently having put 215's on, these also rub the arch slightly, I had no clearance issues with the previous 205's though.

Also the offset of the rim will determine the final position of the rim in the wheel arch, if not set for the classic then this wont be helping either.

Tramlining is more to do with camber/ tracking and tyre choice.
One option I've thought of to stop mine rubbing on the rear arch is to run more camber but this wont help in your situation if it's already tramlining.
Tyre wear isn' really an issue on mine either
