Whining noise from the nearside front wheel.
Hi guys/gals,
I have had Group N spec discs from ScoobySport put on front and mintex competition pads all round. Since going to Donnington and putting my car through its paces, i now get a progressive whining from the nearside front wheel (front left from drivers seat) when i bank right. This is quite worrying and last thing i want is for the wheel to fall off. Is it perhaps just a loose bolt? or does it sound like the disc is screwed?
Appreciate any help...

Hi Cem,
Have you checked the wheel nuts are tight?
It could be just the pad rubbing on disk as you corner due to normal wheel bearing/hub deflection. I suggest you take the pads out and see if they are glazed, that is shinny. If they are get some 180's grade emery cloth and on a flat surface rub the pad till the glazing has gone.
do this on all four pads.
if this isn't the case, it could be the wheel bearing is failing due to overload/overheating.
Also spin the disk and check you havn't warped it.
If they are m1144 pads you could have killed them on a track day as they are only good for 400 degrees C. They may be cracked and comming away from the backing plate.
If this is the case replace them immediately.
hope this helps
