In my opinion, the easiest way of doing this is all at the back of the radio. If you take the radio out then you will have bags of room, its then just a matter of earthing the earth (either scotch blocking into the radios earth or earthing it to a bolt somewhere. Mine is earthed to the a pillar through an existing bolt), and then tapping into the illumination wire for the radio. On an my99 this wire is grey. You can work out which is which by using a multimeter and finding which wire goes to 12 volts when the lights are switched on. Plenty of room, no dash to take apart (and they never go back right again, honest!) and the jobs a guddun!

Hope this helps.

Question

depends where you're fitting it: all the switchgear is illuminated too, so you can get a feed of any nearby switch. And they pop out nice and easy too

depends on where you mount the guage.... if it's on the a piller or similar I'd go for the foglamp illumination circuit (purple and black wires if I remember correctly) otherwise I suppose you could go the otherway if it's on the steering wheel...
