keeping 2 batterys charged from one

As title says I have 2 car battery's that I want to keep charged up, can I use one charger for this and if I can should I connect the battery's in series or parallel?

Parallel. You'll also need a fairly heavy duty charger, ir one on which you can limit the output for a trickle type charge.
