I want to buy a set of tyres to run on my STI7 for track days. I will be using the stock 17 inch rims. Does anyone have any recommendations? Looking for decent life out of them.

Michelin Cups road legal tyres 4 mm of tread designed for the Porsche Cup Series. Though life is c 3000 miles and expect to pay at least £200 per corner

Not quite what I had in mind...I'm thinking that a hard compound tyre with stiff sidewalls might get me sliding a bit more. Maybe I'll just stick with nearly dead road tyres and kill them off on the track.
