Question

Guys,
I need some help please.

The standard STi7 rims are 7.5x17 and are shod with 225/45/17 tyres. If I swap the rims for 8x18 rims what tyres do I need to achieve the same wheel/tyre diameter (and hence drive ratio)

Is it 225/40/18 or 225/35/18 and does it really make a difference.

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers, Ian.

225/40-18 would be near identical in rolling radius terms. Check out the various tyre sizes on this site
