This was built by DND Services in Stevenage for me in my UK Scooby and to say I'm happy is a BIG understatement.

Very nice. You need some protection for that sub though if you ever put ANYTHING in the boot

 

Shall be ordering a grill for the sub in the next week or so but they aint cheap - typical the brand i pick are the only ones that make a 13" sub

 

Looks great! Looks a lot better then my 12" sub and box flying around my boot at speed

 

A bit of 6mm put on the front with a 12" grille mounted on it will make it flush and look good. a 12 should work with the active area of the sub. Check that 6mm will be enough thickness at xmax tho!

Just wondering how much it would cost to get an install like that done? I need to sort my sounds out but don't really fancy doing a DIY job!

i got a special price which i am not allowed to reveal... (sorry)

Was told this setup would have cost over £4,500!!

The amps, speakers, cabling, battery and sub costs over £1,300 in rrp

There is loads of labour that went into mine...

The sub box is made of fibreglass to fit perfectly in the cubby hole, i.e. its moulded.

It may seem a lot, well it is... but if u listen to the system and see it in the flesh you will realise why it costs so much, the combination of Focal speakers and Amps work sooooo well.

yeah, may do - real tempting to go for a flashy boot install. I really need to retain some practicality for the boot though

 

Serious suggestion: finish it off by trimming hte bits that Subuar didn't bother with - bottom of the parcel shelf and the bits around the top to the rear of the boot as you look in.

The build is great, but that bit lets it down just a little IMHO

You dont notice them until u bend down so not too detrimental to the install

 

how s the amp and cover fixed - did he secure it to the back of the seats?

The amps are on their own rack andthat is mounted to the edges of the side panelsand then the cover goes over that.. Its like one giant jigsaw

And space wise managed to get a large suitcase in there so g/f was happy

Sub now has a cover aswell

Given the amount of MDF, have you considered upping the springs on the back of the car? That's a serious suggestion BTW, that lot will weigh quite a bit!
