I have a problem with one of the headlamps on my MY98. The reflector inside the lamp has come loose, and will move back and forth about 3/4 inch, which means the beam alignment is all over the place.

Is it possible to remove the headlamp unit and take it apart to reseat the reflector ? If so, does anyone know how to go about it ? Anyone had the same problem ? I've searched the last 18 months worth of posts and not found anything.

Is it a standard Scoob Classic '98 light?
If so, there are metal clips around the outside of the light unit holding it together. Prize 'em off with a screwdriver, (Hand over top of clip to stop it flying off into space, then suffering "Fridge Suck"), and then part the glass from the reflector.
At this point, I'm unsure what to tell you......I've not done this, but have read that it can be done, so I'm not sure if it just falls apart, or you have to run a knife blade around to free off sealant......It CAN be done though. I suspect the latter.
You should then be able to reseat the rerflector, I'd be inclined to use clear silicone, but that is up to you.
DO ensure you get it seated correctly BEFORE seating in silicone, obviously:

The adjuster connection to the back of the headlight is a ball and socket design and the ball seems to have come out as mine did while fiddling with it I got it back in by removing the headlight for better access and carefully pressing it back in - there was no need to split the lamp. Hope this helps.

I, too was suffering from a flappy thing because my nearside ball had come out of its socket , but with a bit of forceful easing it popped back in and now everything works again.
