Hey guys (and dolls)

Anyone know about supercharging an Impreza. I imagine this conversion (if its possible) will cost several thousand pounds! And I guess it would be detrimental to fuel economy! And I know I can't afford it...yet (awaiting lottery win)

However, I would still be interested to know the ifs, the hows, the whos and the wheres regarding the possiblity of supercharging an Impreza. Also wouldn't this give the best of both worlds? (ie. max torque / power at all times and no noticeable lag) Please, somebody put me straight!
