After all the hype surrounding MSR and F355 I have gone a bought a Dreamcast with both of them...

Now then, *IF* I fall in love with these games I will probably be getting shot of the PS2, so who wants one and what *sensible* offers have you got?

Lear Jets, Diamonds, STi5s are all acceptable.

This may sound like eating humble pie, I don't care, I love the PS2 but if the software isn't there, it isn't there is it!

btw... it is a s****y new PS2 with another controller, Fifa, SSX, Alli G DVD and World is not enough DVD.

Have you looked at ebay recently? Some PS2s are currently at 500 quid, some at 300 quid...

May be worth a dabble on there?

 

Why didn't you rent the Dreamcast ...
I'll give you £2.50p for the playstation as its obviously not very good and I can't afford a Dreamcast

 

yeh, I did look at ebay..bit weird really, the cheap ones had no bids whereas the expensive ones did!

Thing is I'm still not sure about getting rid of it... if the bids from you guys get interesting it might swing the balance, Dreamcast is no ps2 tho...

btw... you *can* offer lear jets and things other than suitecases full of cash

There are loads in ebay.de in Germany and they seem to be going for 300-400 quid absolute max. Some To553r from the US put in one with minimum bid of 1200 quid.

There is a shop in Liverpool selling the PAL PS2 for £800 due to the limited supply(and they've sold a few)
The going rate is about £500 but a friend of mine sold his on ebay for £605, just wait till Christmas when parents will pay anything to keep their kids happy.
I'm keeping hold of mine until then.

Personally I think Sony are taking the p1ss on the PSX2 front, I spoke to a couple of places about reserving one, and they reckon I'll have it sometime in March! what a load of hairy ones...

Sony may be in a mess but the whole industry is in the same boat. There is a worldwide shortage of chips at the mo so it is not entirely Sony's fault.

The PS2 is also the dogs danglies, initial doubts (due to a poor game - ISS) have been completely blown away by Fifa, SSX and DVD playback. In additition, my recent encounter with a Dreamcast and two of the best games proves (to me) beyond a shadow of a doubt the PS2 is the one to get, if you can

It's worth waiting for the big guns to come out game-wise, Gran Turismo 3 looks stunning and if it plays anything like GT2 it'll be awesome. Moto-GP also looks incredible. Everyone who has seen the previews of those two titles have had to pick their jaw off of the floor.

Ive got my coat and found another £100.00 in the pocket.Just been round to the brother in laws and hes paid 300.00 for his with 3 games, it looks a lot better than ps1 , but be better when the good games start to appear

 

£300 is *really* cheap, especially with three games! I got mine from Game and if I don't like it within 10 days I can take it all back for a full refund

 

Mattski, you'll get a better offer but Computer Exchange will give you 350 quid cash.

They're knocking out US spec playstations for 650 quid, and charging 20 quid for an adaptor.

They'll sell UK ones for 700 quid (!)

If you want to be a [strong]true hero[/strong] for Christmas, find someone in your immediate or extended family with a kid who is desparate for one, and flog it to them for what you paid. There's probably people in a similar situation on scoobynet...

it is an awesome bit of kit tho, shame GT3 etc isn't out now ...
