Route66 is good - I run AutoRoute through Virtual PC. You could also try the AA or RAC websites for route planning...

I have a mac. you can get some software for it, will have a look on my server to see what one we have.

I've used both (prefer geostar) never had a problem with them

Oh, and I'm a macintosh man (work for macintosh software developer).
