Question

Can anyone point me in the best direction to get an ITG Air Filter (replacement element type) for my V6 Golf ?

Cheers,

Can't help with that, but i can't recommend an induction kit enough for v6 golfs. Will sound absolutely awsome. Sounds very much like a V8, believe me. Will still retain the V6 purr until the loud peddle is pushed, and all hell breaks loose.

I've been warned against an induction kit for the MK4 Golf, hence the panel filter option - though no one has really given a great reason for it.

2 points re your V6 Golf:-

- I had a V6 Audi from new before the Subaru and when I fitted a foam Pipercross filter, it knackered the air mass sensor (£195 plus fitting). The ITG sounds to be the one MOST suitable for Subarus, but to be honest I'm staying with the standard kit now for the sake of 5(?)bhp.

- Want to buy V6 AWE (as in magic or awesome)? It's on retention since I sold my Audi. Let me know if you do

I was told not to go with an induction kit for my Mk3 16v, and to go with a K&N pallel filter instead - anyone know why that is as I loved the induction noise on my last cars...

see the reasons quoted by Flat 4x4 above, it's to do with the oils/fibres etc dirtying the air flow sensor, which is expensive to replace!

I was looking at ITG Foam filters, on the grounds that from what I've read, they seems not to do this quite so readily.
