^^^ But if he were too, then I'd 'appreciate' the sporting aspect to it a little bit more!

Back in the day it was considered a great achievement to take the 'Big Five' with a bow, although most of those who did it were backed up by someone with a heavy double rifle just in case it went wrong. Howard Hill did it with an old-style longbow totally unbacked by a rifle-toting sidekick. This may have been considered sporting in that failure of equipment or accuracy would have meant certain death.

Fair play to Mr Hill. At least he granted his quarry with the potential 'right to reply' lol

Hooray

Looks like the US authorities are looking at which laws he has broken

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...-shooting.html

Hopefully he broken many so has no chance of wriggling out of it.

I do 'feel sorry' for him in as much he's being made an example of. As there are hundreds of other hunters that do this.

What makes me laugh (well, kinda angry lol) is the fact that they will insist on mentioning his ruddy dentistry practice!... Like, what's that got to do with anything!

Probably the parallel with his daytime interests of inflicting huge amounts of pain both physically and financially

That lionesse needs to take firmer control of her rifle. She'd get a nasty dose of 'scope eye' for sure otherwise. I reckon she's more likely to be shooting a tasty zebra or wildebeest than a human though.

People need to get a grip, yes it's awful but children are being killed in the name of a sky fairy and they don't get their own thread.

Thank you. To my understanding, this is exactly why it's being discussed here.

but children are being killed in the name of a sky fairy and they don't get their own thread.
Ok, make one, then.

I do get what you mean, but to my memory, threads on children being killed and kidnapped etc. do get posted here. We've recently had a thread about unborn children being killed at the name on humanity or cruelty, whatever people want to see it as. We've also had over 20 pages discussion on tooth fairy as well, if not on children being killed in his/her name. IMO this topic is justified as a variety.

Good to see your new post about. It's just dead here of late.

Unfortunately, life, whether human or animal, seems to have little value these days

Life has no value. Everything dies, it's just a matter of how and when. It's a sobering thought (well it sobers me) that in 100 years almost everybody and everything that is now alive on this planet will be dead. That's many billions of creatures, another of God's little jokes!

Saw a programme on Hiroshima Bombing recently with its 70th Anniversary coming in two days. That was highly sobering as the deadly power to destroy the world had been breathing around us in 'of the people, by the people, for the people' style. The whole world could be facing dust to dust, ashes to ashes sooner than we think, who knows.

We're living on the edge.

It certainly possesses more intrinsic comedy value, for sure.
