Never had this happen to me before, but tyres are perished (between tread blocks).

Anyone had this before on relatively young tyres?

 

Yep. Had this on all 4 of my Toyo T1R's.

Local garage advised that I sent them back under manufacturers warranty as they had only done approx 5 thousand miles but still had over 4mm of tread left on them.

Got 50 percent off the cost of the replacements back.

Have the technical manager of Toyo UK's email address somewhere if you want it?

I've got this going on with some avons on my clio - also just a couple of years old.

Yet the General Grabbers on my Landy are almost good as new despite being made back in 2000!
