My car came with half worn Bridgestone RE050's on the rear and new BCT S800's on the front (ditchfinders!)

Now, I hate not having matching tyres all round on my cars, plus, although the BCT's are fine in the dry, they are noisy and truly awful in the wet.

So, I may as well buy a new set of 4 and then sell my tyres for a few bob.

Now, I used to run Toyo's on my old classic and found them great however I have heard that they are not so great on the Newage.

Vredestein's seem to get a good write up. Any idea which model?

Or any other suggestions? Won't be tracking the car at all.

Falken are a good budget tyre, sessanta are the vredesteins i think you mean.
i had a set a while back and they are very good throughout the winter and in the wet.
not cheap though.

Think camskill do the vrededteins for £75 per corner which is good. Just fitting to pay for then.

Have found a set of GoodYear Eagle Asymmetric 225/45/17 for a shade under £300!
Just a bit worried about the speed and load rating.
They are 91Y. Is this ok for the Impreza?

Have read somewhere that I should have the XL (extra load tyres).

Any thoughts?

GoodYear Eagle Asymmetric 2's - Oh my chuffing God!
These have transformed my WRX. Lower road noise, less vibration through the steering wheel and considering that it was quite greasy on the roads last, not once did I feel like they were losing grip.

Whereas before, if I accelerated hard out of a corner, whilst still applying a degree of steering lock, all 4 tyres would squeal and then the front would start to slide. Now there is no spealing and the grip feels endless. Well, may be not endless as every tyre has its limit, but the limit on the Goodyears seems a long way off.

Combined with my freshly refurbished alloys in black chrome, I am a very happy chappy!

Need to lower the ride height now though. Not a massive amount, may be 30mm or so.

Anyone recommend a set of springs?
