Default GOD SPEED BRAKE PADS !! HINT

Hi i posted on here the other day that the replacment kevlar pads for my 335mm godspeed big brake conversion was going to cost £95 i have just found out threw another subaru fanatic who races theses cars that the jaguar xjs 4 pot pads will fit APPARENTLY brembos,EBC or FERODO pads from £26 - £32 i have researched this and it looks like they are the exact same dimensions and shape as the ones godspeed sell the 119 x 71 x 15 mm pads so i can see no reason why they wont fit the subaru 4 pots...........not trying to take business away from them just offering an alternative pad im sure godspeeds pads are a much higher grade pad and after some research it doesnt seem £85 quid plus post is a bad price at all for those pads. I Just thought anyone with the 335mm big brake conversion might like to know this info if they are on a budget!!!

to my knowledge this pad shape is simply what GS offer anyhows, as can many others including ourselves - however i wouldn't be using such a low budget pad on a "race car" and generally we supply a totally different suggestion for track and arduous use cars in preference to this

Yes correct anyone can supply these pads , and modify them to make them fit properly in the Subaru calipers , but why would anyone go to the trouble of fitting a large brake kit , then use bog standard pads that will fade within 2 or 3 times using the brakes hard !

Its like the early K sport kit , supplied with those really bad pads ! was a waste of time fitting them

Cutting round your old pads in to a sheet of 4 ply also works They work well from cold but some have reported a wooden pedal feel ?

As Ian says, why have the big brakes and fit cheap pads, does not make any sense.

Probably a good few keyboard warriors on here.
Rather than saying Brembo are a crap pad, I think people are try to tell you that there are normal pads that will be hurting a lot, if you were to come down a very steep hill will several bends that you have to brake at.

I think you'll also find that there are a lot of people on here with an awful lot of knowledge.

If you don't like the price, go back to standard brakes.
Someone on here will buy your bits.

But seriously, what you are saying is like buying a Bugatti Veyron, then complaining because yoiu can't use 185/70 13 " tyres.......LOL

This is true they do fit as i did it to mine. Jaguar XJ6/XJS pads.

Cheapest TRS Pads from andrew page are £21 and all you need to do is file the holes out slightly on the pad where the pins go through and thats it.

I have some Jaguar Ferodo Performance pads here that will fit and do the job much cheaper. Brand new in a box, pm me if your interested.

You can see the bit ive marked here is the bit that needs filing out, dead easy.

And i have to agree with him that its not the fact that he may be a cheap skate, as with my scooby the big brakes came with the car and i also dont drive it like i stole it every day and so some cheap pads for now were fine for me and still worked mint. I bought the jaguar ferodo racing pads to eventually put in mine but i never got round to it.
