IŽam haveing problems with my rear wheel berings. They brake too easy.

Is there any parts on the marked, wich is a bit stronger then OE berings?

When I replaced mine, (98 UK classic), I had a choice of some genuine ones from Subaru, or some from SKF. I went for the latter, cheaper and well engineered.

I suggest you ask a bearing supplier in Denmark for advice.

 

i sell bearings for a living (last 18 years ) and trust me skf are the best money can buy, i didn't know skf did a bearing for a scoob , ntn or nsk/rhp are oem . and i would rate skf way better than both of the jap bearings , someone get me a skf part number and i will price them up for you

A lot of work and expense to carry out but the later 114.3 PCD hubs have larger bearings in i believe for this very reason.

 

I have been thinking going that road

 

Would be nice.

The Price on Ebay, is half Price compaired to Denmark.

Is it any idea to replace the greese in the bearings?

the skf bearing kit as i see it from picture is a sealed for life pre greased bearing with enough grease inside for its expected life, the good thing about a skf bearing is that it will have high and low temperature grease inside it as standard,

 

SKF are the same design as OEM so you will need some good quality grease to use with them. The red plastic piece in the picture holds the inner and outer parts inside the housing.

 

As above 114.3 is way to go,but probably more expensive route

a spec of your car and under what conditions you are damaging them (and how they fail) might help...............

have been invovled with lots of race & rally cars over the years and when using high quality bearings we rarely have any issues

 

My car is a 95 wrx Jdm.
2.5l 2007 sti engine.
6 speed gearbox from a 2004 uk sti.
Drove from Copenhagen to Scotland, to visit Mr. Andy Forrest,
Who map my car to ( his guess) 470/470
It goes wrong on Nurburgring, the ones I have in now is 1 years old.
No sound on the street, only on the Ring..
Perhaps itŽs ok they dies or?

what is the wheel size and et ?

 

ItŽs 205/40-17 ET 48 or 215/45-17 ET 48 pretty normal No spacers....

Front 22mm swaybar hard, rear 24mm hard
ALK front 25mm lowering

 

do you still have thje small R160 rear diff/hubs?? if so you'd be better off spending the money on upgrading to the Type-R spec R180 hubs/shafts/etc. and match the rear diff to your box

 

My rear diff is 160 bought with the gearbox. The 04 has dropgear 1.1 final 3.545 right?

 

UK STi used a 3.54 rear diff due to its 1.1>1 drop gear..............

 

I had my front classic hubs machined out to take a larger bearing. So far so good. If/when the bearing needs replacing, in your experience, who makes the best quality version of this bearing?
