Do 18" wheels cause understeer???
Hi basically as the title.
I am currently looking for some wheels for my 98 'S' uk turbo, and was told that if I put 18s on, it would make the car understeer.
Is there any truth in this? I have standard 16s on at the moment and i'm unsure whether to go for 17" or 18". Also does anyone know what pcd, offset, etc i need for my car?
Any help much appreciated!!

Absolutely not! Increase the contact patch of the tyre and you'll reduce U.S. However, I'd think carefully about 18's vs 17s. Arch rub and the cost of tyres must be considered and the gearing of the car changes dramatically when changing the overall (rotating) size of the wheel i.e. you'll suffer 0-60!

Also pay attention to unpsrung weight. Throwing a cheap set of 18s on will blunt the acceleration and handling. Hell, even a good set of light 18s may be heavier than the 16s you have on now.
iv just put 18in ovnit tarmac wheels on my 54 blob, the faster i go the steering seems to get lighter an feels abit loose, an when i brake hard the pedal seems to vibrate just abit and pulls to the left, can anyone give me ideas what might be wrong or how to check what it mght be
cheers
