Default ABS Light Problems

Hi Guys,
I have a Bugeye Impreza WRX STI Type UK which has had an 8 pot break conversion on the front, When I got the car the lad said the light had been on since then.

Thing is I have checked the ABS sensors and they are fine, Fluid is fine. ABS defo not working when I break hard in wet.

What else could it be any faults that are common to these cars.

Any help greatly appreciated Guys

Dex

Hi,
Thanks for the info
Its in a garage now but they can connect any of the computer equipment to it, it connects fine with other STI card from classics to new age but mine wont connect.

I even purchased a meter off here one of the other guys used and it wont recognise my car.

So even if i get it to you guys will your diagnostic equipment connect.
How much for a diagnostic test mate ?

Regards

Dex

depends on what equipment they are trying to use as some can be problematic, we have a Subaru "select monitor" so unless your car has an aftermarket ECU or some other issue then its not a problem.........

the SIMTEK is a totally new ECU, we "should" be able to connect and check still though unless there is some other issue

Well guys
booked into AS Performace tomorrow to see if they can connect there diagnostics to my car, Think its caused by the Simtek ECU. Hopefully I will be able to see what the fault is.

Cheers Again

many thanks to as performance top guy, for looking at my car today, spoke to enginetuner after you, he confirmed that the odbc port no longer functions after the simtek chip, said I would have to get an auto electricion to diagnose the abs. thanks guys again.

The simtek is not a chip mate, its a full new ecu, nice bit of kit but wont hook up to the obd2 socket to read faults.
