Rumble on New Discs & Brakes
Hello All,
First time here because this is my first Subaru (2005 Impreza WRX), I have had her a year and she was due for brakes before the MOT. As this is a job I have done many times before I planned to do it myself and save some cash for good other things.
So I decided to go from OEM discs and brakes to Mintex grooved and dimpled with Mintex pads (I have standard brakes on the car BTW). Whilst following the bedding in procedure, I have noticed a rumble when braking at high speed.
So before I spend that cash I thought I had saved on a visit to the local garage any advice on things I can check or you may think I have missed. Mostly because I can't get a good answer from google and do not really know anyone to call.
Thanks in advance
Rob

Grooved discs will be noisier than standard none grooved items, what you are hearing is the pad and grooves, its something you get to live with on grooved discs

Bought the disks from Brake Depot and followed their/mintex procedures, which are -
steady applications 70mph down to 30mph, allow to cool and repeat. Why is there something I should be doing different?

with new discs you would simply drive "reasonably" for 100-150miles using moderate pressure and then gradually build up the effort over the next 50miles or so until your using them fully
also to "cool" you always cary on driving to let them cool naturally do NOT park up!!
