Default Help!!! Front Pads Moving.

Three weeks ago, I got all new pads and discs put on my 2006 WRX...Couple of days later I noticed a clicking noise, took it back to the garage and they said I had faulty pads, they ordered me some new ones and was suppose to fit them today.

When fitting the new pads they noticed movement in the first one (up and down) this was the same as the pads they where replacing. Now they are ordering some more from a Suburu dealer.

Does anyone know why the pads are not sitting tight or will the caliper need replacing as the brakes sound garbage at the moment "click click click".

pads should be pushed against the caliper by the pistons so they fit snug once fitted , i would say the pistons in the calipers are jammed or the calipers need overhauled ?

I had exactly, the same on 4 pots from a classic, mine were missing shims, they were still stuck to the back of the old pads, fitted them and all quiet again, don't know if later brakes are all the same though

How much roughly are these shims? I think that's my answer

Have you a link to a picture of them.
