Refurb or replace
The wheels on my '03 blob STI are tired. There is a bit of corrosion, slight kerbing and one dent on the rim. I'd like either to refurbish or replace them.
I have seen some quite nice Inovit wheels for £285 (http://www.scoobybits.co.uk/shop_wheels.htm if you're interested). It would cost me £200-240 to refurbish my existing wheels.
If I could sell my current wheels for more than £85, it would be cheaper just to buy some new ones and sell the old ones than to refurbish the ones I have. Has anyone any idea roughly how much a set of tired but basically sound STI alloys are worth? I won't hold you to it but I'd like an idea so I can choose whichever is the more cost effective option.

I replaced my 17" Gold Standard Alloys with Prodrive 18" Alloys, and manage to sell my old ones on, but that was over 5 years ago. Back then I went for the PPP kit on my STi and at the time it was recommended to go to 18" alloys, plus the original alloys were heavy and looking too messy. And luckily for me someone wanted to buy my original ones for Race days. To me the original alloys are okay, but as you have pointed out you can get newer alloys for a couple of more quid, but it also depends on pricing for tyres etc... if you use your Subaru in the winter as well, then bare this in mind as for damage from salt on the roads etc..

Thanks for that. Bearing in mind that I only need to get between £45 and £85 for my old wheels, it's likely to be cheaper just to buy new ones and sell the old.
