Red or Green.
I have put redstuff in my MY98 STi but for the type of driving i do i dont get enough heat in them to perform properly. I've only done a 1000 miles with them and are seriously considering changing them.

The reason i ask is cos they're so much cheaper, but if the greenstuff aren't up to the job then i will spend the extra. The thing i like about certain aftermarket pads is the reduced amount of brakedust they produce. Beats cleaning the wheels every couple of days!

I got green stuff's on my MY97
The reason why they dont reccomend them for Scoobs is that under very heavy use (racetrack etc.)they run alot hotter, which can increase the chance of warping discs and fade etc.
I bought the Pads with EBC discs the warnings about using green-stuff came with the discs NOT the pads!
Done about 4000 miles on them, no probs. No DUST either!

If you are not doin track dats or very fast road grenn willbe fine if however you do track days suggest you get second pair like pagids but suggest you get front and rear at the same time run greens on the road and pagids or mintex 1155 on track

Pagid, Ferodo and Mintex make the best pads, and they are priced accordingly. But if you want reliable stopping and good wear, they're worth every penny.
For fast road, Ferodo DS2000 (Prodrive recommended), Mintex 1144, Pagid RS421. For road/track, DS2500, 1155, or RS42 (blue).
As far as dust is concerned, you really can't avoid it. In very broad terms, pads have either a high carbon content (organic = dusty) or high metal content (sintered = less dust but hot metal particles that can weld themselves to your alloys).
All pads have a mixture of both, to a greater or lesser extent, with hotter track pads tending to have more metal.
Hope this helps.
Richard.
Edited to add Ferodo 4003 is very similar to DS2000 (so Ferodo told me) but is cheaper for various commercial reasons. Quite a few Scoobs run these.
