Default AP Caliper Refurb

Hi everyone,

I'm soon to be looking to refurb my calipers and ondered if there are any do's/donts with resepct to them being previously/currently hard anodised?

I recently did a set of subaru 4 pots and just wire brushed them to death before painting them and that came up a treat but i'm not so sure if thats a good idea with the AP's?

There is a local wheel specialist that have offered to powder coat them for me but not sure if thats the best option either? I'm not too shy with tools and rattle cans.

Any help info would be appreciated.

You could get them media blasted to clean all the flakey paint off and get them stove enamel painted. They are alloy body so a soft media should be used. You can get cheap blast cabinets and do it yourself.

Andy, thanks for the reply. I dont have any flakey paint as such, just areas where the coloured anodise has rubbed down.

Yellow R, no, I would not powder coat over your bleed nipples. I would remove the nipples and blank the holes. Have you removed the pistons, dust seals, seals etc?
