Default Godspeed refurbished calipers, discs and pads ....

Well folks I decided it was time to tackle the brakes on my WRX. I couldn't afford Brembos so decided to get the standard four pots refurbed by Godspeed. Just need to bed them in and see how they perform !

From this .....

to this .....

.... I also wanted to say thanks to Ian at Godspeed for the advice and the quick delivery. I ordered on Wednesday and everything was here on Friday in time to fit today. Highly recommended !

TBH, the old ones didn't look that bad - nice improvement though

.....yeah I did think about it. The calipers are sent out without the lettering painted. I considered painting them myself but don't have a steady enough hand. So I have found ( what appear to be ) some decent die cut decals so hopefully they will do the job.

To be honest my original calipers didn't look too bad, but one of the pistons had started to seize, and without being able to afford the Brembos I just went for a refurb instead.

You need a steady hand if you do them the hard way. The easy way is to use a smaller sponge roller. Paint goes straight over the raised bit.
I take it your calipers were an exchange pair, as your shape usually has a flat face, and the lettering is a sticker anyway. Or were the originals raised lettering?

Paint a block of wood with the required lettering colour.
Press it gently onto the letters, keeping it flat. Remove the wood, check and repeat if not enough paint is on.

Job's a good'un.
