Default 53 reg sti brake pedal question

I have a 53 reg sti now I got it just before xmass but my brake pedal feels quite hard but when you press is the brakes don't seem to do as much as what I'd expect *in fact the wife passat feels like its got more of a bite when stopping the pads have a lot of meat left on Them and the disc are good the fronts a grooved backs are standard could it be rubbish pads?

i had the same when i first got my car. the servo assistance isnt as great as in other vars especially vw's. different pads will change the feel slightly but wont make them have the initial feel of a vw. if you give them a hard shove they should stop the car on its nose.

You`re lucky. Most of us seem to have spongy brake pedals
