Default Toyo TR-1 vs Falken 425?

Yes i know this old chesnut

I need to get a set of tyres for my Turbo wagon. I used Toyo CF-1 and Eagle F1’s in the past on the MR2 Mk1 but have been recommended getting the Toyo TR-1 for the impreza but then told the Falken are near the same but cheaper?

The car will get used all year around but been told the Toyo are too soft and the wall breakdown when fitted to a heavier car like the impreza and more suited to lighter cars like my old Mk1 but then I have also been told the Falkens are crap in the wet.

If I had the money I’d get F1’s again but way too expensive.

It has the standard 205/50R16 wheels

I had same dilemma few months back,I have always had Toyo on my Impreza,s for last 10 years or so,so was wandering about having a change,I spoke to a few retailers about the pro,s and con,s of each brand and the general opinion was if you are happy with Toyo stick with them-so thats what I did,Toyo T1-R 225/40/18,they are not as grippy as the old T1-S but they do last longer, imo of course, hope this helps

Ended up ordering the Falkens after being advised the Toyo walls would be too soft on standard wheels. Mind you considering the car currently has 2x clear tyres?, 1x goodyear, 1x continental. So really any full set the same would be better

I like the falken 452s for road tyres. Excellent value.
