Default Brembo or K-Sport?

I'm looking to upgrade to anchors on the wrx and wondered if anyone has tried both and can compare?

If I went K-Sport I'd probable go for the 6 pots. As for the Brembos, well not really sure what size they come in?

Any tips would be appreciated.

which evas cheaper inc disc and fast pads like blue ndx or orange. both are good setups but the k sport pads are rubbish.
u can pick up a set of brembos for around 400ish then u need to buy discs an pads. i would go for 2 piece discs and good pads, but depends on how ur gonna drive.
personally i have standard 4 pots with godspeed kit. 335mm 2 piece discs and blue pads and they are just as good as a standard brembo set up. and ive heard that the 6 pot k sports are small pistons and dont bite enough. and are thinner discs, but then again depends on what ur looking for as far as braking

I'd like a fast road setup with the odd track day in the summer thrown in there. I'm generally a smooth driver when it comes to braking, always leaving plenty of room and so fourth. But I'd like the confidance to know if I do get a bit right foot happy then they will perform.

i got 8 pots and they r good and do look the nuts but u can pic up brembos up for 400 for the fronts discs and pads tha will perform very well compared to ur 4 pots. when u have spare money change disc s and pads

couple of options then, im the same. i drive hard inc tracks day occasionally.
i have the 335 godspeed kit, was gonna get brembos but theres no need to unless i put 18inch rims on and go for bigger discs like 356 etc.
now u can get either of the 3 but make sure u get 2 piece discs for the heat to escape quicker so u dont get fade and good pads like blue/orange. its the combination that makes a good setup
these are mine

I'm running PFF's (18's) so can accommodate a larger calliper and disc. Am swaying towards k-sports just mainly because the kit comes with everything, just upgrade the pads when spec'ing. If I went Brembos then I'm thinking I might end up spending just as much but ending up with an inferior product? Or am I being a bit narrow minded?

be about £899 for 356 kit plus extra for pads from apex, but i do know a mate got a deal off bren for £800 maybe on special offer at time or hes good mates with him. i belive they are in bradford.
good luck i bet u cant wait. to make sure list ur wheels in a forum to make sure u have enough clearance so u dont have problems later as ive known some 18s dont have enough clearance for the kit. as im not an expert on wheels

K-sport is way to go,i'm running front 356mm and rear 330mm with DE2500 and they're just amazing

And yours PPF will clear K-sport like 8pots 356mm or 6pots 330mm,we are tried on our one before and they will clear.About the Brembo and K-sport,K-sport are not chunky as Brembo and they will clear your brakes without the problem

For pads,i would replace K-sport pads for PF pads or DS2500 both are good,on EBC i can't comment i've tried them on OE 4pots and i wasn't been too impressed,in my has been very poor

I'm going though the same thing at the minute have a bug sti with brembo's already on it but hitting the track as much as possible soon and don't know which route to go but I want to keep my 17's so can't go 356 kit or I would
Question is keep brembos and go 2 piece discs and orangestuff pads or ksport 330 kit ?

I had the same choice and went for the K Sport 330mm kit which are 8 pots. I was thinking about Brembo.s but by the time you,ve bought new disks and pads your upto the K Sport price. I,d rather have new calipers tbh..

If you have Brembo Kit all ready i would go route of Performance Friction disc and pads, these kits are proven on track and fast road

Price for this kit should be lower than for K-sport kit,for best prices contact here Alyn@AS Performance(here known as stockcar) or Performance Friction

you should try the ebc ndx blues jura as i had ds2500s before and they took a small time to heat up then work great also i found i had to stamp on em a bit to get the braking i needed, but still good.
the blue ndxs are good hot or cold with a good instant bite and you dont have to stamp on pedal, just touch to get a reaction

2 piece discs would be my choice then, cool down a lot quicker, avoid brake fade

whats the max power i can take a late 55 plate 5 speed gearbox upto without damaging it. i know the later boxes are stronger but how much stronger?
thinking of putting a vf30 on off a jdm bugeye, currently running a td04 on about 300hp.

sorry guys for going off topic

Really i've run EBC BlueStuff NDX before on OE 4pots and really OE spec Pagid basic pads has been much better

DS2500 are great pads and really if i would go for pads i'm leaning towards Performance Friction Z-rated pads as next upgrade or Pagid RS4-2-1

Hi there

i think your box will hold the power of VF30,as rule of thumb what kill the boxes is not the bhp,but torque.
In my view you should be OK with your box with this turbo, but everything is just guessing game, how long will last or if will last.

My friend running WRX with VF34 around 350bhp and still is on WRX box and still holding power, really depends how you drive and if you planning to launch car,if your answer is yes,i would suggest P1 box or TY754 which are strongest 5speed or if its budget 6speed or PPG

VF34 is ball bearing turbo and using same exhaust housing like VF30(P18),will spool much better than VF30 which using thrust bearing and using same exhaust housing(P18),with bigger exhaust housing you will loose on spool up,but you will gain on top end, with smaller exhaust housing you will loose on top end,but you will gain on spool up.Really depends what you want spool up or top end.Best from both is VF34

VF35 is as above VF30 thrust bearing and using smaller exhaust housing(P15) and will spool much better than above mentioned turbos(VF30 or VF34).

Personally we are went with VF34 and really nice turbo suited on WRX and spool up is just great, plus nice sound of ball bearing turbo
