225's will rub on a classic you need 215.

Hi

If the wheel is an 8.0x18" the 215s will not give very good rim protection and give the slightly stretched look. On this width wheel on a Classic I would go 225/35/18s as mentioned above, if the wheels are high enough offset you shouldn't get any catching.
Back in the day 215/35/18s were not very commonplace so the 225/35s were the default choice for the Classics and it is the size P1s came with from the factory with the 18" wheel option iirc!
Offset should be 48-53 if using 225/35s

Thanks

Keith

Hi

Yeah, 215s will fit no problem on a 7.5x18".

Just out off interest I'm running prodrive wheels but wish to change them. Tyre size is 225/40/18. What with are these wheels? 7.5", 8"??

Hi

I am pretty sure the Prodrive wheels in the pic on your link are 7.5x18".
It will be stamped on the back of the wheel if you want to be sure.

Thanks

Hi

That sounds spot on!

7.5x18" ET45 and above with 215/35/18 is perfect for a Classic.

Thanks

Keith
