Default abs brake problem please help

here i go again,

only just bought the scoob yesterday an my1999 uk turbo 2000 wagon with 104k, and already i need to a spend,

when i bought it the guy told me it needed new brake pads so thought ok no problem easy job, but a couple of hours ago the brake abs light come on and now the brakes when pressed bang and clunk like mad as if the abs has kicked in.

it scares the life out of me because it feels like its not going to stop, i took it easy on the way home and now every time i press the brakes i get a juddering and a knocking like noise from the brakes and the pedal go's mad,

not not even had it one day and its broke down, i paid good money for it as well due to the history and it being standard.

any help will be much appreciated guys and thanks in advance.

sounds like the pads are fitted wrong or you have broken an abs sensor
