Default Toyo proxes t1 r tyres

Ive had some of these fitted to a new set of wheels and have started to do some miles on them this weekend, they seem very noisy to me?? Just wondered if they are known for this, ive never noticed such a large amount of road noise before and assumed it was probably something to do with the compound of the tyre being so much softer than any other tyres ive had.

Pressures correct ?

I found they had sidewalls that didn't suit the heavier Newage cars... mine didn't last very long !

Think pressures are ok, but will double check tomorrow, mines a classic so not sure about the weight being an issue, they are definitley softer sidewalls than the federals i had before.

How are you getting on with your Toyo's?

Also have you played with pressures?

I've run T1 R's since I've had my car, I can't say I find them noticeably noisy

I had them on my New Age JDM and found them very good.

They didn't fair too well at Anglesey TD though, but there again I suppose no tyre on a Scooby would around there

Have just fitted 17" wheels to my new Type R with 215/45's Proxes - looking forward to finding out what they're like, will play with pressures - even higher ones Stu

Biggest problem is overheating on track I found, they will squirm when uber hot, but thats fair enough at £70 a corner road tyre Noisier on the NewAge than the classic

tbh the last few times I have gotten the wheels refurbed on swap over so the fitting cost is absorbed. With the new Revolutions I bought I am getting them powdercoated at a cost of £170 and £40 of that I would spend on fitting. So for an extra £130 I get minty wheels too

Locally the tyre place I use are fine on a £40 cash deal to whip off the old tyres and put on the new fully balanced, valved

I don't know if you're interested but I can get Yoko AD08's for £128 a corner but am emailing Camskill to get a price beater cost

When I had T1R's on my classic I found them noisy and skirmy for the first couple hundred miles afer which they magically settled down to be amongst the best tyres I have run on the Scoob. Certainly a lot quieter than the Federals that were fitted when I got it. They were so bad I was convinced I had a wheel bearing gone.....

My classic previous tryes were T1R's, they were fine, but now the R1R's is much more better in every aspect.

I agree, It`s also hard to find a local fitter that sells sausages so they probably wont be that bothered about makin the sale, PMSL...
