EBC Red Stuff
#1
Recently I had my front discs and pads upgraded at my local Subaru Dealer.
I had EBC Turbo Groove discs on and EBC Red Stuff pads. (I actually wanted greenstuff) but they said that this was the advised configuration.
I have found that they only seem to work well when warmed up. Obviously this doesn't take too long :-) , but does any one else have any thoughts on this- as my confidence in this braking system isn't quite there yet!

BTW I'm not sure if I have the new compound or not, have heard that both Greenstuff and Redstuff have been upgraded to newer compounds recently...........

I also have this exact combo.
2 things
1) The pads need lots of bedding in - ie 400 miles plus I have been told !
2) Initial bite is not very good. They need lots of warming up. But once warm they do perform very well.
Today I had a potentially huge incident where I relied on them to stop me quick - & they performed very well - but they were warmed up....however.....if if they had been cold I wouldn't have stood a chance & thats what really worries me about the set up.

Totally agree, my comments are in the previously mentioned thread... just remember you need grooved disks to generate enough heat to get the Redstuff working, with standard smooth disks they are rubbish.
